The Status Subscriptions device policy allows you to configure status subscriptions for devices, including properties such as operating system version/build, battery health, software update status, and more.

To add or configure this policy, go to Configure > Device Policies. For more information, see Device policies.

Prerequisites

CEM version is equal to or greater than 25.5.0.
The feature flag ios.mdm.declarative.management is activated. Contact your admin to enable this feature if needed.

iOS settings

Status Subscriptions device policy

Device properties
- System version: If On, the device will report the operating system’s version (e.g., 18.0), which will be displayed in the System Information section of Device Properties. This is useful because the device will automatically report it when a version upgrade occurs. The default is On. Available for iOS 15 and later.
- System build: If On, the device will report the operating system’s build version (e.g., 18F132), which will be displayed in the System Information section of Device Properties. This is useful because the device will automatically report it when a version upgrade occurs. The default in On. Available for iOS 15 and later.
- Battery health: If On, a new setting Battery Health is added to the Device Properties. This setting allows the administrators to view the battery health status of the enrolled iOS devices by navigating to Manage > Devices > Properties > Battery > Battery health. The default is On. Available for iOS 17 and later.
Software update
- Failure reason: If On, the device will report the reason for a failed OS Update, which will be displayed in the Software Updates information section of Device Properties. The default is Off. Available for iOS 17 and later.
