What’s new
What’s new in 2503
This release includes the following new features and enhancements. It also addresses several issues that help to improve overall performance and stability.
Profile load timeout policy for greater flexibility and resiliency
With a new policy, Enable profile load timeout, you can now configure how long Citrix Profile Management waits for a user profile to load before switching to a temporary profile. This policy provides greater flexibility in profile loading and enhances session resiliency, ensuring a smoother and more efficient logon experience tailored to your environment.
Typical use cases include:
- Non-persistent multi-session VDAs running Citrix Apps. In such environments, loading user-specific data might not be necessary. You can set the timeout to 0 seconds to bypass profile loading and use a temporary profile.
- Error handling. This policy mitigates network disruptions by automatically switching to a temporary profile if profile loading exceeds the timeout setting.
For more information, see Configure a timeout for profile load.
Windows roaming profiles support for Profile Migration Tool
You can now use the Citrix profile migration tool to migrate data from Windows roaming profiles to Citrix container-based profiles. This enhancement makes it easier for you to transition to the Citrix container-based profile solution. For more information, see Migrate user profiles.
Enhancements to UWP app roaming
The Enable UWP apps roaming policy now works seamlessly with the AppX package load acceleration policy. Previously, enabling both policies prevented UWP apps from roaming. This enhancement removes that limitation, ensuring UWP apps can roam with users even when AppX package load acceleration is enabled.
Health check enhancements
We’ve enhanced the Citrix Profile Management health check with:
- Expanded feature coverage: Includes checks for the latest Profile Management features.
- Personalized recommendations: Offers tailored configuration recommendations based on your machine’s environment and existing settings.
